Jesus Christ

The Bible was written by those who were inspired by God, so it is accurate and true, and represents historical occurrences.  It was for the whole humanity irrespective of religions. God shows no partiality, but he delights in every nation or anyone who fears him and does what is acceptable to him. The entire writings in the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation point towards the Son of God, Jesus who is the Saviour of the whole humanity.

Most modern historians agree that Jesus existed and was a Jewish teacher from Galilee in Roman Judaea, who was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect, Pontius Pilate. In Jesus God entered into the human history. The birth of Jesus was a Good News for all people. This Good News is not one truth among many “truths” that people nowadays can choose from, like choosing what one will or will not eat. It is either all true or not true at all because it claims to be all true.

God created us. Not only that, he loves us so much that he wants us to know him now and spend eternity with him. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” There is a universal salvific aspect in this.  Bible does not say that God sent his son for a particular religion or a people group.  But it was for the whole world to experience eternal life, where each one will live in fullness of peace and joy.

Jesus came to this world so that each of us could know and understand God in a personal way. He alone can bring meaning and purpose to life. Jesus Christ is God's only provision for our sin. He came to seek the lost in sin, poverty, sickness, helplessness, anger, untouchability, social excommunication, hopelessness, superstitions etc…  This is the Good News. By believing in Jesus, we become the children of God. Through him we can know and experience God's love and plan for our life.

Bible does not disregard any religion but talks about the way of life founded on a mystery, which is the greatest sacrifice on the cross.  Bible says, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  The followers should consider others better than themselves, should be willing to lend their hands to help others, and should be able to sacrifice anything including their own lives. Above all, Bible teaches its followers to give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, but to try to please everyone in everything they do. It also suggests not seeking personal interests but common good so that the whole world may experience the joy of salvation, a salvation from all evil ways of life.

Let us experience this blessed way of sacrifice!
